About us

We moved into this home in early 2020 with plans to rent out this space to our friends and family. Our goal is to have all proceeds of this rental after improvements help us to achieve our goal of being debt free. We thank you for booking with us and helping us reach this goal and we trust that you'll enjoy your retreat above it all.

General Information
We do not allow pets of any kind or smoking in or around our home at this time. We require a Release of Liability be signed and returned to us prior to your stay.

Your accommodations include full access to our attached apartment, located adjacent to the garage and directly below our kitchen. NOISE ALERT: Please know that we have two kiddos and they love to run around. They sleep roughly 7pm - 7am and we’ll do our best to keep them from making too much noise! Should we lose power, the generator is outside the apartment area, also.

Parking
Please park your vehicle at the end of our driveway near the road. You are welcome to unpack first, but please do not block our garage doors. There is plenty of parking in our driveway and more across the street.

Apartment Access
Please refer to the combination provided prior to your stay to gain entry into the apartment. Please lock the door whenever you leave - it is not necessary to enter the code when locking the unit.

Local Transportation
Uber & Lyft operate on the mountain but may take a while to arrive and be expensive; other local services are available, including:
    - Linda’s Livery                         951-515-3882
    - A+ Mountain Ride Services   909-500-2994

AC/Central Heating
The heating/cooling system is shared with the main home. For the most part, the area maintains a comfortable cool temperature in the summer but can get cool in the winter. We have blankets available in the room.

Sink Use
We do not have a garbage disposal; we ask you use the metal basket to catch food waste and dispose of waste in the trash can. Please also wash any used dishes before your departure. There is a water filter and a hot water dispenser attached to the sink for any tea and hot chocolate you may bring.

Coffee Machine
Feel free to help yourself to coffee and other drinks from our k-cup machine. Please also be aware that this water can be HOT.

Laundry
We do not have a shared laundry area but let us know your needs and we may be able to help you run a load.

Security System
Our main house and garage are protected with a security system armed at night and when we are away. Your area will not be alarmed. Feel free to come and go as you please. Please lock the door behind you whenever you leave as well.

Television/FireStick System
A television is available attached to an Amazon FireStick. We have a selection of movies available on the TV without charge. Feel free to log in to your Netflix or other streaming services, but don’t forget to log out. We do not subscribe to any cable TV services, but an HDMI input is available to plug in your devices, should you desire.

WIFI and Internet Access
We have business-grade high-speed internet access that should accommodate your streaming and surfing needs. Occasionally our internet will experience longer buffering times and slower speeds due to heavy traffic.

Shower/Bathtub
Our bath is near our water heater so be careful of potentially high temperatures!

Garage
Our guests will not have access to our garage through the locked shared door.

Grill
A small camping grill is available for your use near your entrance. Please bring camping propane canisters if you wish to use it and clean when you are finished. Propane cylinders are available nearby from Rite Aid and Stater Brothers in the Village.

Cleaning Supplies
Dish soap, hand soap, and some light cleaning supplies, including paper towels will be available for you visit.

Smoke Detectors
A combination smoke/carbon monoxide detector is permanently installed in the space. It is connected to the rest of the main house. Please have an evacuation plan in case the alarm sounds.

Refrigerator
The refrigerator/freezer combination is larger than a dorm fridge but smaller than a standard home fridge. It is generously-sized for your getaway experience. Please keep it clean and attend to any incidental spills.

Water Usage Our water comes primarily from mountain springs. We have an ice tray available in the freezer, and a hot water dispenser in the sink. Please be mindful of use, as our water everywhere is a precious resource.

Housekeeping
We ask that you replace the furniture where it was when you first arrived prior to your departure. We have cleaned your area with disinfectant and all the linen is clean.

Mountain Etiquette and Experiences
We ask you to pack your trash whenever you're away from a trash can and to recycle when possible. We are in National Forest land and wildlife sightings are frequent in this area, including bears. Please be careful and respectful.

Weather
Lake Arrowhead and our mountains experience all four seasons, including ice and snow. Please review the forecast and don’t forget to pack snow chains during the winter months that fit your vehicle. They are required by the California Highway Patrol to be carried, even if you have 4WD/AWD.
